Who We Are

VISION, MISSION AND INCORPORATION OF THE PER-CURSO INSTITUTE

Vision
The Per-Curso Institute was founded in the United States by Brazilian and American psychoanalysts with the goal of training professionals capable of serving communities in multiple languages. We are the first educational institution in the world to offer Portuguese-speaking psychoanalyst training outside of Brazil.

Mission

Our mission is to offer, in multiple languages, psychoanalysis courses of the highest standard, in order to prepare good analysts to serve the communities living in different countries .

Incorporation

The Per-Curso Institute is strictly established under the laws of the United States and is an institution that aims to follow, as far as is consistent with it, the recommendations of the International Psychoanalytic Association (IPA), the largest psychoanalytic organization in the world, founded by Sigmund Freud in 1910. The IPA is headquartered in London, serves as a scientific reference for psychoanalysts from all countries and encourages the creation of study and teaching groups in psychoanalysis throughout the world.

Psychoanalysts trained by the Per-Curso Institute are registered as members of ABRAPlp - American Board of Registration and Accreditation of Psychoanalyst, an organization based in Orlando, Florida, constituted along the same lines as all other associations that honorably preserve the integrity of the teaching and practice of psychoanalysis.
